Arden Chambers is pleased to announce two seminars dealing with tenancies of commercial properties and, in particular, focussing on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 (“the Act”).
The first of two seminars is intended to provide an introduction to, and overview of, the Act and will cover issues such as:
· tenancies to which the Act applies;
· security of tenure;
· the rights of landlords and tenants upon termination;
· services of notices under the Act;
· applications for new tenancies or termination of tenancies;
· a summary of the grounds of opposition to a new tenancy;
· compensation; and
· terms of a new tenancy.
Legal 500“Arden Chambers is ‘an excellent’ specialist social housing set, which has ‘exceptional strength in depth’; ‘if you need a barrister at short notice, Chambers can deliver’. The ‘friendly, intelligent and professional’ members have expertise that inspires confidence; ‘you really feel as though there is no housing point that they have not dealt with before’. The service from the clerks is also rated as ‘excellent’; some say it has ‘come on leaps and bounds’ since Lisa Jones joined as Chambers Director.”
